Summer Care Tips for Dogs

Summer is just around the corner! Are you ready for the warmer weather? We are! We’re pretty sure it’s safe to say that many of our adorable canine patients are also looking forward to fun summertime activities. Just be sure to put your dog’s safety first. Swimming

Does your dog enjoy swimming? As long as your vet doesn’t object, there’s no reason Fido can’t cool off with a dip in a pool or lake. If you are going to a pool, make sure your pet knows where the pool stairs are. If you’re going to a lake or river, keep your canine pal away from deep water and currents. Never leave your pooch unattended near water.

Heat

Hot weather is very dangerous to dogs! Make sure Fido always has plenty of fresh, clean water, and take care not to overexert him on walks. Plants

Food

Dogs love a good barbeque just as much as we do. However, many foods are dangerous to them. Never let your pooch have grapes, currants, or raisins; avocados; pitted fruits; nuts; garlic or onions; chocolate; caffeine; or alcohol. Also, be sure to keep Fido out of the trash.
