At Omaha Animal Medical Group, we understand that illness and injuries can happen at any time – and usually when we least expect them. Because of this, it isn’t always possible to plan ahead for your pet’s care. We also recognize that sometimes, life just gets in the way, making it challenging to schedule and keep routine wellness appointments. That’s why we’re happy to extend the offer of same day visits for our patients.

We strategically plan our scheduling and staffing to ensure that whenever the need for medical care arises, someone will be available to serve you. Whether your pet is showing concerning symptoms or it’s simply a convenient time for a last-minute checkup, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

When should you consider a same-day sick call?

When companion animals get sick, they often exhibit one or more common symptoms. Here are a few signs of potential illness to keep an eye out for:

• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Lack of appetite
• Coughing
• Decreased activity
• More frequent or less frequent urination
• Stiffness
• Difficulty getting up
• Lethargy
• Lameness

If you notice any of these signs or symptoms, it’s time to give us a call. Someone from our team will assess the situation over the phone and determine whether a same day appointment is recommended.
