Our Careteam

Veterinary Assistant
When Nichole first started working with animals, her main goals were simply to secure a job and enjoy what she was doing every day. It wasn’t long before her motivation became something entirely different: making a true, lasting difference in the lives of animals and the people who care for them! Nichole is happy to do just that as a member of the Omaha Animal Medical Group team.

Nichole is originally from Mead, Nebraska and started her animal-care journey at a local pet resort as a Kennel Assistant. Three years later, she was promoted to Assistant Manager! After working as a Veterinary Assistant for a brief time at another nearby hospital, Nichole joined the team here at Omaha Animal Medical Group and has been helping the pets and animal owners of the area ever since. She’s particularly fond of helping during surgeries, assisting with appointment scheduling, and doting on the clinic’s visiting dogs.

Nichole is engaged to her fiancé, Thomas, and currently lives in Wahoo with one pet of her own: Francis, a pesky but adorable long-haired cat. When she isn’t tending to pets’ needs here at the hospital or spending time with her family and Francis at home, Nichole enjoys painting and drawing; she’s won awards and has sold multiple pieces of work! She’s also an avid photographer and has even had her landscape photographs published in calendars.

Amanda grew up tending to animals on her parents’ Mead, Nebraska farm. She was outdoors feeding the chickens and goats since the day she could walk! Amanda’s love of animal care simply never quit—she knew that she would one day help the earth’s creatures as a veterinary professional.

Here at the clinic, Amanda loves to help out in the surgical ward and educate the area’s pet owners on proper animal care techniques. If she can help even one pet owner to better the life of their companion at home, she knows she’s succeeded!

Away from work, Amanda can often be found spending time with her mother and her dog, a loveable Pomeranian named Taffee Lynn. Taffee Lynn even likes to go on rides with Amanda on her motorcycle!
Veterinary Technician
Jen grew up in a small Iowa town surrounded by a family of animal lovers and plenty of adorable pets. For her, a passion for the world of animal care came quite naturally! Jen is thrilled to now care for pets and their owners on a daily basis—she’s a Veterinary Technician with the Omaha Animal Medical Group team.

Jen took a year’s worth of business management courses at Iowa Western Community College, but found that her coursework simply didn’t challenge her in the way that she would have liked. That’s when she decided to switch career paths and try her hand at something she had always been passionate about: veterinary medicine. Jen signed up for the school’s Veterinary Technician program and hasn’t looked back since! She recently graduated as a Veterinary Technician, and is proud to bring her skillset to Omaha Animal Medical Group alongside the hospital’s compassionate, talented care team.

Around the clinic, Jen’s medical interests include bandaging work and IV-line placement. Above all, though, she loves to share her knowledge with the area’s pet owners to help Omaha’s animal companions live happier, healthier lives every day. For Jen, passing on what she’s learned is the ultimate reward!

At home, Jen shares her life with two cats: Louise, who loves to play fetch, and the queen of the castle, Kemuri. When she isn’t spending time with her own pets or caring for others’ companions here at the clinic, Jen enjoys crafting, sewing, and making costumes. She and her significant other recently attended a costume convention in California based on the BBC program Sherlock, where they won Best in Show for their costuming skills!
Head Receptionist
Although Christy always had a childhood dream of tending to pets in a veterinary clinic, she was working in the customer service field by the time she was in high school. She enjoyed an almost 20-year career with the Long John Silver’s franchise, but finally decided that she would like to try her hand in the animal-care world. Now, Christy has been serving the pets and animal owners of the area here at Omaha Animal Medical Group for 15 years!

An Omaha native, Christy signed up at another local animal clinic briefly before she saw an advertisement for Omaha Animal Medical Group. She sent in her resume, and fell in love with the facility, staff, and patients as soon as she interviewed in the fall of 2001. The rest is history—Christy has been here ever since! She’s especially fond of interacting directly with animals and their owners, and also enjoys handing out tasty treats to deserving pets.

Outside of work, Christy enjoys bicycling, home improvement, and organizing things around the house. She and her husband own Third Nail Creations, a small business that makes custom metal artwork and figurines. For Christy, the business is a great way to get her creative juices flowing!

Christy and her family live with four dogs—Kody, Cajun, Coloqhoun, and Cassidy—as well as a cockatiel named Frankie who enjoys yelling at the dogs when they get too close to his cage.

Jillian has been a passionate animal-lover ever since she was a toddler. Her love for the earth’s creatures never wavered—when she stumbled upon a veterinary technology program and realized she could help pets and their owners professionally, she didn’t hesitate! Jillian is now proud to serve as a Veterinary Technician with the Omaha Animal Medical Group.

Jillian grew up here in Omaha, only a few short miles from the hospital. After some time spent working in the broadcasting field, she began looking into other career options and came across a local veterinary technology program—Jillian started studying in 2003, and graduated a few years later as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She’s been helping pets live healthier lives ever since!

As a Tech, Jillian loves to give pets the gift of great dental health; she’s always amazed to see a dirty mouth shine after a professional cleaning. She’s also fond of laboratory work, and her favorite part of the job is helping to educate pet owners on the best care methods for their animal companions.

Outside of work, Jillian loves singing—she’s even had classical training!—and enjoying the company of her own pets at home. She shares her life with two cats: Quin, who loves cuddling with his mom and chewing plastic items; and the loud and ornery Chewy.
