Fluffy’s Cutest New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year! Many people are taking a few minutes today to think about the past year, and set new goals for the coming one. If you have a cat, Fluffy will probably just continue with her regularly-scheduled naps today, completely unaware of the holiday. But if kitties could make resolutions, what do you think would make your furball’s list? A local Omaha, NE vet offers some educated guesses below.

Try New Sleeping Spots

If there is one thing on your cat’s agenda for 2017, it’s napping. Our sleepy feline friends can spend up to 20 hours a day snoozing! Fluffy does need a little variety, however, so she will probably move from spot to spot throughout the day, and then cuddle up with you at night. Your adorable, drowsy pet may also try some different sleeping positions this year.

Assume Complete Control Of The Humans

Does your cat have you wrapped around her paws? Fluffy may have you trained to feed or pet her on demand. She may also decide whether or not you can read or use your computer, by sprawling out on your book or keyboard. Your kitty may want to make sure that she has complete dominion over the household this year!

Nail A Perfect Pounce

Even if your pampered pet wouldn’t have any idea what to actually do with a real mouse or bird, she’ll still be instinctively driven to attack small things. Your feline pal may very well want to improve her pouncing skills over the next 12 months. Fluffy may also want to work on her stalking or jumping, or perfect that tricky run-jump-pounce-meow combination.

Sunbathe

Kitties love to doze off in sunbeams. In fact, Fluffy may even schedule her naps so that she can snooze in her favorite sunny spots. One would almost think that our furry little buddies run on solar power! Soaking up some sun may very well be on your furball’s agenda for the new year.

Cuddle

Cats have a reputation for being aloof, but many felines are actually very snuggly. Fluffy may want to spend a good amount of the new year curled up in your lap. Purrs and cuddle time are definitely on many kitties’ agendas for 2017!
